Victor P.Nechaev研究员1977年毕业于罗斯托夫州立大学地质与地理学院。1977年至1982年，他参加了乌拉尔南部地区的金矿勘探工作，之后在俄罗斯科学院远东分院远东地质研究所转到地球科学专业。1982-1991年，以重矿物组合作为构造背景的指示物是他研究的主要课题。1991年，他发表了自己的博士论文《重矿物组合对太平洋海底新生代地球动力学背景的影响》。后来，他的研究范围越来越广，包括宝石刚玉和琥珀的地质学、含碳岩石中的贵金属、石油地质学以及对地球演化的银河系影响。自2014年以来，他还在远东联邦大学工程学院担任助理教授。
