Vladimir V. Seredin于1983年在俄罗斯科学院矿床地质、岩石学、矿物学和地球化学研究所获得博士学位后，在IGEM RAS工作了40年，致力于地球科学方面的研究。2008年，他加入了International Journal of Coal Geology的编辑委员会。通过大量的著述和广泛的合作，他在示踪元素地球化学、煤地质学和矿床地质学等方面做出了许多重大的科学贡献，特别是他对稀有金属研究的深刻见解以及对煤矿床中稀土元素的评价和分类及地质成因。
