David French1983年博士毕业于英国纽卡斯尔大学,获火成岩岩石学和矿物学理学博士学位,留校任矿物勘探工业和研究助理。与澳大利亚联邦科学与工业研究组织有近28年合作,20149月退休与Colin Ward合作,至今在澳大利亚新南威尔士大学任高级访问学者。
